FOR THE AFRICANS AT HOME, PLEASE READ! Life abroad is not a bed of roses

Life abroad is not a bed of roses or a can of honey. No one gets overseas and becomes rich miraculously. The difference between existing in other developed countries and our homes is that we do odd things that we normally will not do in our country.

Take Italy as an example, People beg on the streets, some sell drugs (cocaine), while some women are lured into prostitution against their will. Whereas, the same people could have lived their lives responsibly at home without having to jeopardise their dignity as beggars and prostitutes, or put their lives at risk as criminals in preparation for an unknown future.

This is to say that the legitimate jobs that you do abroad do not guarantee your position in the millionaire`s club. Having a casual job oversea is the same as in your country. Only that once you have put yourself in this situation, you will have no other choice than to accept the work that you can find. In Nigeria for example, a Senior Secondary School Certificate of education (S.S.C.E) holder, will not accept a manual factory job. But here, even a master`s degree holder is glad to have an unskilled farm labourer`s position.

So, what do you intend to become? A beggar on the streets of Italy, a cocaine seller, a prostitute or a destitute? Please believe what you are reading this moment, travelling overseas is not worth achieving by all means or dying in the sea over. Do not be deceived by the words that you hear or the pretence of friends and family members each time that they return home.

They are not all RICH!!!
