Five senior lecturers and seven other workers at the Auchi Polytechnic have been sacked for offenses bordering on sexual harassment and extortion of female students in the school.
Fifteen other lecturers and one instructor were also demoted in relation to the same offenses.
The disciplinary actions were announced on Thursday by the Executive Secretary, National Board of Technical Education, Dr. Masa’udu Adamu-Kazaure, in Kaduna.
Adamu-Kazaure said the decision was endorsed by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.

The sacking and the demotion of the lecturers followed a Saturday PUNCH’s story of April 9, 2016, entitled, “School where prostitutes assist male students in getting marks.”
