Here's how much YouTube stars like PewDiePie and Tyler Oakley earn (up to $15 million)

Whether you realize it or not, the very peak of the YouTube game is an extremely lucrative one.
Yep, those daily blogs, gaming commentaries, and makeup tutorials are no joke.
In fact, Forbes has revealed just how much the stars of the streaming giant earned this year, and it's enough to make you curl up in a dark corner while weeping at your bank account info.
So, who tops the list?
Felix Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie, has managed to retain his title as the highest-paid YouTube star for a second year running, bringing in a reported $15 million. All this, despite recently suggesting he'll delete his channel after hitting 50 million subscribers.
He's not the only internet celeb to reel in the cold, hard cash, though, with nine others and their channels hitting the list. Combined, the top ten brought in approximately $70.5 million in the 12 months ending in June 2016 — which is also a 23 percent increase from the previous year.
This happens to include a baker, a rapper, and a comedy duo, all of whom managed to make more than $5 million each.
Another prominent personality, Casey Neistat, who recently sold his business to CNN for a reported $25 million, didn't make the list, though this is likely due to his earnings falling outside the measurement period.
As Forbes states, the list measures "earnings before subtracting management fees and taxes", with figures based on data from Nielsen, IMDB and other sources, as well as "interviews with agents, managers, lawyers, industry insiders and the stars themselves".
Here's a look at the full list, just in case you needed the motivation to start your own channel and make some quick money before Christmas:
1. PewDiePie — $15 million
2. Roman Atwood — $8 million
3. Lilly Singh — $7.5 million
4. Smosh — $7 million
5= Rosanna Pansino — $6 million
5= Tyler Oakley — $6 million
7= Markiplier — $5.5 million
7= German Garmendia — $5.5 mil
10= Rhett and Link — $5 million
10= Miranda Sings/Colleen Ballinger — $5 million
