This is a brief history of Boko Haram, its enactment and their activities since inception. Recently, Al Jazeera in a video made it clear that Abubakar Shekau is no longer the leader of this deadly group.
But does the Nigerian government know about this? Somehow, it is strange that no one in Nigeria actually knows much about this 'Shekau'.
We have never heard of his family background or members, does he have a brother, a sister, father or a mother? Which exact school in 'Niger' did he study theology? Where Did he spend most of his childhood? Who really is Abubakar Shekau? Possibly, Shekau is only a code name and his real name is not known or declared to the public. Maybe he is only a masquerade that covers the faces of real perpetrators.
