A simulation of counter-terrorism exercise was carried out in a real airport floated by true passengers a few days ago, at Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos Nigeria. Many passengers peed in their panties, many were actually molested by the faked terrorists and others were rushed to the hospitals as their blood pressure rose to an unbearable level. But, can this anti-terrorism simulation in an international airport be justified? Is it right to put passengers through agony without their knowledge and consent? Sporadic gunshots, kicking and pounding of passengers who were made to lay on the airport floor.
We are still waiting for reactions from Nigerian civil/human rights organizations and opposition political parties because that event was a gross violation of the rights of passengers and of citizens.
