US stated on human rights violations in Crimea and Donbas

The US State Department in its regular annual report on the human rights situation in the world informed that the greatest human rights violations in Ukraine occurred in connection with the conflict in the east of Ukraine and the occupation of Donbas, according to Radio Liberty.
"Supported by Russia, separatists in Donbas commit kidnapping, torture and illegal detention, use of children as soldiers, suppressed dissent and imposed restrictions on humanitarian aid", the report says.
According to the report, Ukrainian authorities have problems with the justice system that violates human rights.

"The authorities generally did not take appropriate measures to prosecute and punish the majority of officials who committed abuses, which created an atmosphere of impunity", the report says.
In the document, it is also mentioned that international human rights organisations and the United Nations saw "significant shortcomings" in the investigation of human rights violations committed by government security forces.
